Blackjack at Gold Horse Casino
On our gaming floor we offer blackjack in two main formats: live tables and electronic stations. Both areas are open to guests who are 19 or older and must show valid government-issued photo ID. That is our baseline requirement, and it applies to all guests.
In the live games section you will find regular blackjack and Bonus Spin Blackjack. Bonus Spin Blackjack is a SIGA progressive blackjack game connected to a shared network across multiple Saskatchewan properties. Our electronic table game stations also offer blackjack, so you can play at your own pace if you are not in the mood to sit at a busy dealer-led table.
| Blackjack Format | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Blackjack | Live table | Dealer-led, multiple seats |
| Bonus Spin Blackjack | Live table | SIGA progressive side bet |
| Electronic Blackjack | Electronic station | Self-paced, 18 stations available |
Bonus Spin Blackjack deserves a bit of attention before you sit down. Back in February 2020, a guest from Bodo, Alberta, landed a $92,718 Bonus Spin progressive win at Gold Horse. That was the first jackpot of this type reported at our property. It was a payout from the shared network, not just a win on a single table. If you want to know what the current progressive is sitting at before you buy in, ask any of our floor staff. They always have the latest number. Note that our live blackjack tables have been upgraded to the Bonus Spin Extreme Power Up progressive, so the name you see on the floor may reflect that newer version.
Alongside blackjack, we also spread Chase the Flush, roulette, baccarat, three card poker, and we keep at least two poker tables running. The layout keeps everything fairly close together, so moving between blackjack and other table games in a single visit is straightforward.
Getting to a Table: How It Actually Works
Gold Horse Casino sits at 3910 41st Street in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, right off Trans-Canada Highway 16. We are around 250 km east of Edmonton and about 275 km west of Saskatoon, so players visit from both directions.
Once you arrive, the usual flow looks like this:
- Show your government-issued photo ID at the entrance. The 19+ rule applies to everyone coming in, whether they plan to gamble or not.
- Walk in through the main doors onto the gaming floor. About 33,750 sq ft of the 49,000 sq ft facility is dedicated to gaming.
- Make your way to the live table games area. Our staff on the floor can point out which blackjack tables are open and which ones offer the progressive side bet.
- Take a second to read the posted table minimums before you sit down. Limits can move up or down depending on the specific table or time of day.
- Swap your cash for chips either right at the table or at the main cage. Dealers do not place cash directly on the felt for wagers.
- Pick how you want to play: regular blackjack, or Bonus Spin Blackjack if you want the progressive side bet in your session.
- If you prefer electronic play, head over to the electronic table games area and choose any one of the 18 blackjack stations.
- When you are finished, cash out your chips or vouchers at the main cage or at an available floor redemption point.
There is one general tip we always mention: if you are still getting used to blackjack, it usually helps to get comfortable with the basic rules before you start putting money on progressive side bets. That is a good habit anywhere you play, including with us.
Before you place your first bet, consider stopping at our Players Club desk. Joining is free, valid photo ID is required, and membership is open to anyone 19 and over. Enrollment is quick and you can get it done right on the gaming floor between games.
